The PowerEdge R200 is an enterprise-class rack server designed to maximize datacenter density and performance while reducing power consumption. This 1 U, 1-Socket server supports up to a Quad Core Intel® Xeon® X3230, 2.66GHz processor, & 8 GB 800 MHz DDR2 RAM. The default configuration is a 1.8 GHz Celeron processor with 512 MB RAM. But there is a free upgrade available to a Dual Core Pentium E2180, 2.0 GHz processor.
What is this good for? A great web server solution, either standalone or a node in a web cluster. At 1 U, 1-Socket, it’ll save you space and power. If you’re using this in a cluster, so what if it has 1-Socket, another node will kick in to take up any slack. You can get Dell to load either Windows or Redhat/Suse or you can get it without an OS and load it up yourself.
